You'll be welcomed to our community and supported by Mike and our mentors who will coach you through new member induction and our Code of Conduct. If it works out, you can join us as a weekly member though our booking system. This will start your journey with Rogue BJJ Canberra.
If you decide how we approach BJJ and the community isn't for you, that's okay. If Mike or our mentors feel you are not a good fit then we'll openly tell you. The health and safety of our community is our priority and any person who is selfish, dangerous, inconsiderate, offensive or at any stage breaches the Code of Conduct, will be asked to leave immediately.
No. From 2024, Rogue BJJ is exclusively for members only or those that book a 1-month trial pass. We don't offer single class passes to people who aren't Rogue BJJ members.
You sure can, but you'll need to be a Rogue BJJ member to train with us.
Rogue BJJ is not like other clubs. Our classes are small and you get plenty of direct feedback from Mike and our mentors in class. Members also undertake gradings without additional fees or hidden costs which are often applied at other clubs.
We train at Mandala Studio - an intentional community studio for Movement, Mindfulness, Creativity and Connection. There's other activities offered at Mandala Studio too. Because of this connected approach, Rogue BJJ members get incredible value for money with unlimited access to Yoga Classes held at the studio. Check out our Timetable for scheduled classes and our Pricing for all the details.
This is all without an additional fee. Incredible right?
Yes. Many of our members have injuries they have sustained throughout their lives and we acknowledge your level of fitness and experience. Our training seeks to support them in every way possible. This includes modifying training and techniques to accommodate needs.
Regular practice is essential for building competency in BJJ. Two sessions per week is what we would consider to be the minimum amount of training required. This approach will support your ability to improve techniques that we action at Rogue BJJ when we drill.
No. Many of our students are veterans and first responders but we value a diverse community. We believe it's healthy to bring people together from different backgrounds.
This is a common fear and one that isn't unfounded. You might, yes. We can't guarantee you won't. But we'll do our best to prevent that by providing a safe, non-competitive mat culture and expert direct instruction. At Rogue BJJ we're not world champions or UFC fighters. We're ordinary people who want to train and improve our fitness, health and wellbeing. For that reason we do everything we can to minimise the risk of injuries. Take a look at the Rogue BJJ Canberra Code of Conduct and Rogue BJJ Canberra Illegal Techniques.
