Rogue BJJ Code of Conduct

The health and safety of our community is our priority and that is the responsibility of everyone.

I acknowledge that my performance as a ‘good citizen’ within Rogue BJJ Canberra will influence the desire of other members to train with me.

I acknowledge that the safety and care of Rogue BJJ members are our number one priority and all behaviour physical or virtual should reflect that priority.

I acknowledge that Rogue BJJ Canberra operates as a community studio and a shared space with other practitioners, students and customers that I must respect at all times.

As a ‘good citizen’ I will ensure I conduct myself in the following manner:

  • Ensure my personal hygiene is impeccable as is the cleanliness of my training gear.
  • I will leave the studio in a clean and tidy and respectful condition before exiting after a Rogue BJJ training session or class.
  • I will respect personal boundaries and the physical and mental safety of Rogue BJJ members.
  • I will support the health and wellbeing of my training partners and protect them from injury.
  • I will be generous with my knowledge and courteous with my behaviour.
  • I will respect the right of all members to choose their training partners, mentors and their individual BJJ journey.
  • I will respect the rights of Rogue BJJ members to participate in specific segregation periods of training (women only, families only, noise sensitive training) that have been designated on the Timetable.
  • I will consider the needs of other Rogue BJJ members and community studio residents when making noise while training or talking.
  • I acknowledge that Private and Semi-Private training and classes takes precedence to all other training and will ensure that my own concurrent training does not impede the conduct of those sessions.
  • I will respect the conduct of Private and Semi-Private mentoring and will conduct myself in a quiet and courteous manner to not disturb those sessions.
  • I will not train with children at Rogue BJJ unless I have a valid ACT working with vulnerable people card and if supervised by a Rogue BJJ mentor or owner.

When/if I refer and bring a Rogue BJJ guest to the studio:

  • I am responsible for and will supervise my guest that I bring.
  • I will ensure they have signed a waiver, acknowledged the Rogue BJJ Code of Conduct and booked a Rogue BJJ Visit before they enter the studio.
  • I will ensure that my guest trains with only me and no other Rogue BJJ members unless Mike Armstrong has cleared them to do so.
  • I will ensure my guest adheres to the Rogue BJJ Code of Conduct.
  • If my guest contravenes the Rogue BJJ Code of Conduct I will escort them from the premises and notify a Rogue BJJ mentor or owner in writing of the breach. This guest will not be able to attend again or join Rogue BJJ Studios.
